Private Island
on the Great Barrier Reef

Bedarra Island is one of the most beautiful tropical islands in Australia. Offering spectacular sandy beaches and hidden coves, tropical rainforest cascading over commanding granite boulders and views of the surrounding islands, Coral Sea and fringing coral reefs.

A haven of artists, beachcombers and nature lovers, Bedarra offers the perfect location to escape from civilisation and enjoy a secluded and idyllic tropical island escape.

East Bedarra Retreat is one of a small collection of houses located on the private north-east headland of Bedarra Island.

The headland is a parcel of land once owned by Noel Wood, a renowned artist, who spent over 50 years living a Robinson Crusoe style existence on Bedarra Island.

The houses all share access to two glorious tropical beaches, one on the northern side of the headland adjacent to East Bedarra Retreat and one on the southern side of the headland, in addition to shared rainforest covered walking tracks.

The island is also home to Bedarra Island Resort, which is located on the south-eastern side of the island and separate to East Bedarra. (Please be aware that access to the resort and resort facilities is for resort guests only.)
